Alden Perrine

Student / Software Engineer

ABOUT ME

I am a third year computer science student at UCLA who is an aspiring software engineer. I mainly program in C++ and Java, but have worked with Python, OCaml, and other languages before. I have interned at companies such as Jane Street, Facebook, and Google.

In my spare time I occasionally work on personal projects or work on learning new subjects. I prefer working on infrastructure or the backend of large systems, especially focused on data security, but can adapt to working in many different environments, and have seen projects from design, through implementation, to launch.

SKILLS

UPE Tutoring Director

I am a tutoring director for UPE, a computer science honor society. I manage a team of twelve officers who hold all of the review sessions for the lower division classes. In addition, I help manage the daily tutoring held throughout the week.

Personal Projects

Most of my personal projects are in C++, my main programming language. I love solving puzzles and thinking about finding efficient algorithms for problems. Recently I made an attempt to implement the SRP protocol for ZK-login.

Prefered Programming Languages

My strongest programming language is C++, which I have worked in for both Google and Symantec, and am acquainted with C++11. I am also proficient at Java, having worked in it in Symantec and made a small Android app.

Known Programming Languages

I have worked in many languages including Python, OCaml, Hack, and CSS. These languages I have programmed in before for either in work or in school projects, and have knowledge of their use in specific scenarios.
